Could the visitor map I have on my blog be showing visits from me or is it real visitors?
GBG asked:
I decided to experiment with a visitor map on my 360 blog. It shows a few visits. But I am clueless as to how these maps or ISP addresses really work. I have 5 visits showing and a few are from within about 25 miles and one is from about 160 miles away in the capital of my state, and then I have one from a totally unexpected part of the country. My counter on my 360 page shows a few visits, but not that quite that many. And as far as I know, nobody in my area reads my blog. I am thinking these might be me, but I am on dial-up, and surely if it were going to show my own page viewing it would show a visit from the city I’m in right? But, it doesn’t.
